NOS BELLES / EN

The beauties of Madagascar! their fame spread like wildfire. Those who do not know them have heard of the sulphurous beauty of these ladies.

The tropical Malagasy atmosphere is well established, its beauties are sharp businesswomen. Love is affordable there due to poverty, exoticism guaranteed. An island where the fauna and flora are magnificent, as well as its beauties: kind, smiling and above all always up for it.

Our beauties (mostly) offer the illusion of love, the men (all comers) have it; All in a trading system. An island where all fantasies can be realized and wishes granted. These beauties use their know-how to get paid, nothing is too good for the little grandpa.

For a long time, our beauties have been rekindling love, healing wounded hearts, welcoming old frumpy people. They hope and are never tired of it, that one day Prince Charming will end up denouncing himself… most of the time it stops at the hope or at the airport (Ah sééériee ee ze t'aime zusk' at the airport). Some of them have been there since they were very young;sent by their parents to sell themselves to bring back the daily bread under their young prerogatives...

Did they have a choice? do they have a choice today? in the era of #MeToo or #balance your pig (hashtag to reveal the scandal of sexual abuse, particularly in the workplace): our beauties do not swing their pigs, they devour them.

Human trafficking is still commonplace, women are the first victims. In a country where the status of women is diminished, where domestic violence is still accepted and matriarchal power is evident but denied; the representation of our beauties is only the beginning of a denunciation proposed by the artist of millennial female tragedy; but also a reverence for the strength of these women, of women in general.

Through this project to materialize the daily life of these beauties who: all day long and evenings, walk the beaches/streets/bodies without getting tired. Make these ladies-in-waiting more familiar… who are like all of us; actually very nice.

Show a reality more complex than our vision at first glance, a reality experienced by the majority, which deserves to be seen and studied.
